Things I've found and loved | July 2019

Watching: The Price Of Shame | Monica Lewinsky

I watched this TED talk out of curiosity to be honest and by the end of it, I felt my own shame. Shame for any and all assumptions I made about this lovely woman during the presidential scandal she was caught up in.

I was as guilty as the next person in the assumptions I had made about her character and assumptions I had made about how she was or wasn't able to move forward in the aftermath.

It really is worth a watch. She was a young woman who fell in love with her boss. No more, no less and regardless of who he was, she should never have been treated the way she was.

I apologize Monica.

Also Watching: The Handmaid's Tale

Lady Startup Podcast By Mamamia
Oh June how I've missed you!

If you are a Handmaid lover - I hope you are enjoying season 3 as much as I am. If you are not a Handmaid watcher yet - DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR!

SBS On Demand in Australia. I have no idea how to watch it elsewhere but it won't be hard to find.

Learning:

FotoTripper - YouTube

I usually watch these video's for pleasure (and learning) but mostly because they are enjoyable photography video's for me. This episode I found to be a great example of how to merge images and blend them into one photo in Photoshop. The best part of the video however is his explanation of what he's doing during the shoot. The way he explains his focal point for each shot, knowing he will have to merge them really opens up the use of blending in Photoshop. After you see the shoot and the end result all kinds of possibilities for blending become clear to you.

About Jenny

I started my IT career in Database Administration and .Net coding. While I LOVED that work, I realised very quickly that I also wanted a life. To be a top end coder or DB Admin, you have to comit your downtime to constantly learning and evolving and while that is also something I love, I wanted it to be my work and not my life. So I morphed my love of design with my knowledge of all things SEO and moved into building small business websites.

Why small business websites? I'm a small business myself and I know how hard it can be so I wanted to give my clients a great service, with an approachable point of contact where no question was a "stupid question".
