ongoing fees

Once your website is completed and published you will have an ongoing monthly cost for the hosting of your website. This cost covers the server that stores your website and ensures it is available to the public.

The platform we use constantly upgrades their products and services to address the evolution of the web and everything that goes along with that evolution.

WEBSITE HOSTING

WHAT DOES HOSTING COVER?

Your monthly fee ensures that you have instant access to any upgrades whether technical or design based. When you are using our platform, you have the option of multi level plans.

When I create your website I start you on the plan that is most appropriate to your usage. As per most things, this can change and it's a simple process to upgrade your plan. ECommerce plans are based around the number of products, features and usage.

My website hosting plans include me making any edits to accommodate improvements or changes to the platform base, but do not include any edits of content. In response to client feedback I do not include any time spent editing your website in your monthly website fee.

EDITING RATES

Ongoing rates for small edits are $70.00 + gst per hour. These might be things like adding extra team members, adding a new page or editing content that you provide. Typically I run an ongoing tally of time I've spend and when that reaches $100 I add it to your next monthly invoice. More technical work such as adding a new widget, incorporating code etc will be charged at $110 + gst per hour.

PAYING YOUR HOSTING

BILLING PROCEDURES & PAYMENTS

I send my monthly invoices on the 1st of the month and they are for the month prior. You can pay via bank transfer or with a credit card. They are due for payment by the 7th of that month, so you have 7 days to pay them.

As I bill in arrears, I really appreciate you paying on time every month. I am a small business like you and I would prefer not to be chasing your payment every month.

MONTHLY PAYMENT TERMS

As you pay in arrears (I bill you on the 1st of June for May's services), I am quite strict about not supplying services I'm not being paid for.

Once your second invoice has been issued, if the prior invoice has not been paid you will receive an email advising your that all invoices must be paid prior to the 7th of that month or your website will be turned off. I am very strict on this item. I do not continue to provide hosting services for a website that is not being paid for. I am not negotiable on this item.

If you work for a company that pays routinely at the end of the month, please let me know and I will bill you in advance. This will mean that you will pay your first hosting invoice before you go live, and then each month your invoice will be for the month ahead, instead of in arrears.

ANNUAL PAYMENT TERMS

Annual payments are invoiced a month prior to their renewal and annual websites will not be renewed without payment. I am billed by the platform the day their renewal becomes due and after years of dealing with some less than ideal clients, I no longer expose myself financially.

If your annual website payment is NOT made at least 48 hours prior to your renewal I cannot guarantee it will stay live.
